Batumi Oil Terminal Saves USD 1.36 Million through Improved Energy Efficiency
Batumi Oil Terminal Saves USD 1.36 Million
Through Improved Energy Efficiency
Following the results of the first seven months of 2026, Batumi Oil
Terminal LLC (BOT), a subsidiary of KazTransOil JSC, reduced its electricity
consumption by 24.3% and natural gas consumption by 41.4% compared to the same
period in 2025. The economic effect of
energy resource savings during this period amounted to USD 1.362 million.
These results were achieved through a set of measures implemented in
2025–2026 to improve energy efficiency and optimize technological processes at
BOT facilities. The measures included
modernization and repair of process equipment, as well as improvements in
production process management practices.
One of the key areas was the modernization of the process for heating
and unloading fuel oil at Railway Unloading Rack No. 2, which is designed to
handle up to 84 tank cars. As part of
the works, the energy-intensive fuel oil unloading process was automated,
enabling the optimization of equipment operating modes and reducing energy
consumption.
The implementation of the new solutions also reduced the time required
to heat and unload fuel oil from tank cars by 7–10 hours, which, in turn,
increased the throughput capacity of Railway Unloading Rack No. 2.
The implemented measures form part of BOT’s consistent efforts to improve energy efficiency, ensure the rational use of energy resources, and optimize production processes. The results demonstrate the practical benefits of applying modern approaches to the management of technological operations and modernization of terminal equipment.
Batumi Oil Terminal LLC (BOT) is a 100%-owned subsidiary of KazTransOil
JSC. BOT provides direct ownership and
management of production assets in Georgia.
