Batumi Oil Terminal LLC conducted an emergency response training near residential areas
In the area of the technological pipeline of Batumi Oil Terminal LLC (BOT), located near residential areas, a planned emergency response training was successfully conducted according to the scenario: a simulated oil spill on a pipeline with a diameter of 700 mm.
The event was aimed at rounding out the coordinated actions of personnel in the event of a potential emergency: from emergency notification and stopping the technological process to the departure of emergency teams and the elimination of a simulated incident. In addition, a module on providing first medical aid was practiced with the participation of the terminal's duty medical worker.
Before the start of the planned emergency response training, all residents of nearby areas were informed in a timely manner, and preparatory activities were organized in strict accordance with current safety regulations and requirements.
The training involved over 30 employees and over 30 pieces of equipment, including truck cranes, pumping units, generators, and firefighting equipment. It involved repair and mechanics services, emergency response teams, oil spill response specialists, a fire brigade, security, and medical personnel.
Such exercises have become a stable practice of the BOT and are held on a regular basis. Particular attention is paid to coordinating actions with the local population in emergency situations - to ensure a joint, prompt and effective response. Such co-operation helps to build a high level of trust and security. The results of all exercises are necessarily communicated to local executive bodies.
The inspection showed that the terminal is ready to respond effectively in any emergency conditions. BOT is a reliable, safe and sustainable element of the international logistics infrastructure that meets modern standards and requirements.
