Practical training in the use of fire extinguishers is the key to the safety of administrative buildings.

Knowledge saves, practice protects!

As part of the fire safety training for the management and staff of the administrative buildings of Batumi Oil Terminal LLC, the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Department successfully conducted a demonstration practical exercise on the use of the primary fire extinguishing equipment on January 15, 2026.

The main goal of the training was to develop and reinforce practical skills of the staff in the event of a fire, as well as to practice the correct and safe use of fire extinguishers in conditions as close as possible to real ones.

The training session was held at 11:00 a.m. in front of the administrative building of BOT. It featured hands-on training, including igniting flammable materials and extinguishing them in a special fire pan. During the session, the participants had the opportunity to practice using ОП-6 (the powder-type extinguisher) and ОУ-5 (the carbon dioxide extinguisher) fire extinguishers, as well as to familiarize themselves with their design and operating procedures.

During the training, to ensure additional safety measures, the training site was equipped with a safety post including a fire engine and a truck crew, which ensured full control of the situation and prompt response if necessary.  

Holding such events contributes to improve the level of the fire safety, fostering a responsible approach to occupational safety, and protecting the life and health of the employees.
