World Day for Safety and Health at Work: Safety is our common priority

28 April is World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which highlights the importance of safe and healthy working conditions for all employees. The right to safe work is an integral part of social rights and an essential guarantee of social protection. Every employee deserves to be in a safe working environment.

This day not only highlights the importance of safety in the workplace, but also reminds us of those who have been injured or killed as a result of work. World Day for Safety and Health at Work was first celebrated in 2003 at the initiative of the International Labour Organization (ILO), and since then, events dedicated to this holiday have been held in more than 100 countries around the world.

The history of World Day for Safety and Health at Work begins in 1989, when the United States and Canada held "Workers' Memorial Day".

The Employees of the Health, Safety and Environment Department held introductory talks for administrative and production personnel, during which current issues of occupational safety and fire safety were discussed. Information sheets with important information and recommendations were prepared for all those present, which will help improve the level of safety in the workplace.

An information minute on fire safety was also held on the main territory of the terminal, where employees were introduced to the basic principles and systematic approaches to fire safety. For clarity, there was a demonstration of the use of a fire extinguisher in case of fire, and everyone could try their hand at practice.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work reminds us that safety at work is not just a formality, but an important aspect of our lives that requires constant attention.
We work together to ensure safe working conditions and protect the health of every employee!
